Local Pilot Brings National Contest Gold Medal Home to Bucks County

Tom Marden brought gold home to Bucks County for his air speed race, flying No. 66, “Second Hand,” in the Biplane Division at the National Championship Air Races held September 10-14 in Rosewell, New Mexico.

At a regular business meeting Wednesday, Bucks County Commissioners honored Marden’s achievement.

“In addition to [the win] Tom is the manager of Van Sant Airport in Erwinna, which is one of the airports the county owns,” explained Bob Harvie, president of Bucks County Commissioners.
